About Material Totals

Material Totals is an independent calculator library for checking construction and landscaping quantities. It is designed to make the arithmetic, units, rounding, assumptions and limitations visible.

Editorial approach

Geometry and exact unit conversions are kept separate from variable material properties. When a result depends on product coverage, density, yield, price or waste, the input stays editable and the page identifies any registered source behind its starting value.

What the calculators are for

These tools support early quantity planning and a second check of a takeoff. They do not select assemblies, certify code compliance, replace manufacturer instructions or provide engineering design.
